Camp Westwind is a youth camp nestled on a unique beach along the Pacific Ocean, within the Cascade Head UN Biosphere Reserve. Helm supported Westwind's revisioning of the camp facilities with a property-wide assessment documenting the needs of existing buildings, combined with Westwind's program needs into a comprehensive improvement plan. Westwind used this roadmap to successfully fundraise for a critical first project: improving the existing restroom facilities to create accessible, gender-inclusive restrooms for campers and staff. The design draws on the colors and materials of the ocean, beach, and forest, and is designed to be welcoming while remaining durable and easy to maintain. The staff restroom has been completed, with the camper restroom currently under construction.
